Mitchell had a friend party to celebrate actually turning 10. Of course, it was the hottest day of the summer so far!
We started with a scavenger hunt throughout the park. I may have slipped into teacher mode for the instructions...
The clues were challenging, but all the teams were successful!
Shannon and Audrey had a team as well, with the assist from Grama A.
After running around in triple digit heat, we went swimming. It was great to have additional adults help be lifeguards - there were 16 kiddos in the pool!
Hunter S and Mitch sport their goggles.
No one was jumped on or harmed in the process - so it was a win!
The kids had pizza for dinner outside and then came in for presents.
It's always amusing to see the dog pile-style kids have of opening gifts. How close can they all get?!
The pinata was destroyed almost immediately.
They played in the tree house, had Nerf wars, hit in the cage
and then took a break for ice cream cake!
The party wrapped up with a scrimmage in the shade of the park. It was lots of fun!
As a 10-year-old, Mitchell is smart, funny, sassy and developing into a great person. He loves Legos, Nerf, baseball, swimming, animals, music, harassing Shannon, reading, and playing with his friends. We love watching his character emerge and are thankful for his health and happiness. Double digits...it's hard to believe!
