Happy Easter!

Sunny, beautiful weather and a day at home made for a happy Easter!
Lots of sugar and desperate need of a post-church nap leads to a photo like the one above. Awesome.
Mitch was an egg-hunting machine!
Shannon was an egg-contents-eating machine!
My honey bunny
My mamacita
Easter lunch on the patio in 70 degree weather. Hallelujah!

Hello, Spring Break!

We made it to Spring Break!

Shannon is a little Monkey See Monkey Do with her brother. The above photo is not a singular occurrence. In fact, she delights in wearing Mitchell's underpants - always outside her clothing and always in multiples. She spent most of Saturday sporting these two pairs.
Reading continues to be fun and Shannon is beginning to sit still and listen.
 Wrestling is fun, too!
We're happy to welcome spring!

Weekend in Ephrata

We spent the weekend watching baseball in Ephrata!
The kids got so see the grandparents, while Bryan organized the first Dave Johnson Classic - a tournament of eclectic teams all coached by former TBI coaches.
Vicki fed the Stanfield team on Friday night and Dad fed the Stanfield, Orting and Cashmere teams during the tournament.
The wind made things COLD outside, so we invaded the press box at the stadium. Dave announced, and he was accompanied by (and occasionally distracted by) Mitch, Shannon, Rachel, Vicki, my grandparents Pobst, my Dad and me. It was much warmer inside!
The tractor (which cost more than our truck!) was a big hit with Mitch and Grampa kindly provided rides.
This kid thinks he should be allowed in the dugout whenever he wants . . . we need a helmet! Here he is dancing with the bat.
Shannon thought the press box was her personal playhouse.
She ran and crawled along the counter top - giving her great-grandpa some nervous moments!
Of course we watched some ball, too. Bryan always loves coaching at Johnson-O'Brien Stadium!
This is the coaching staff from Stanfield, Orting, and Cashmere with Dave, the tournament namesake.
Aunt Rachel was a fun playmate for her niece and nephew, too!

Daylight Savings

Baseball season is underway . . . and so far the weather has been accommodating. Aunt Rachel came for a visit this weekend and brought MBJ a new Peter Rabbit book. The British English made for lots of giggles during story time!
Shannon has learned to say "cheese" when she sees a camera. Here she is posed and waiting for the flashbulbs!

Reflections of a 16-month-old

 Who is that lovely gal?
 Think I'll give her a little kiss . . .
 Such delight!
Ready for the day!

Reflection ON a 16-month-old
This kid is so much different than our first! While Mitch loved us to sing, Shannon yells ‘No!’ when we start. She is aggressive and tackles her brother to wrestle, climbs anything without fear, is a fairly good eater, screams without inhibition, hates riding in the car even facing forward, is much smaller than her brother, and of course her coloring is lighter. The most notable thing about this age is how much of a mimic she is. She copies everything Mitchell does – from eating, to talking, to playing. She wants to play with his trucks, his duplos, his cars, etc. You get the idea. She’s also good at helping us out, dragging garbage bags toward the trash, bringing MBJ his kitty doll, retrieving shoes for all of us. And now she is sleeping from 730 to 530 consistently! Should be a fun spring with this lass!
