Mitchell is not content to sit on the floor. He is so very over laying on the floor. As he wants to do is stand. Given a prop, he does quite well for himself. Once his little monkey hands are strong enough to open the drawers, we're in trouble!

Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday, Bryan!
He's 29 today - last year of the decade.
The photo below is of my somber guys taken by the bearded one.
They crack me up!

Giggles for Grama
Happy Birthday, Grama!
This boy had some serious giggles and some high-pitched squeals, too. Every dog in the neighborhood came to see what the noise was all about . . .

Firsts
Mitchell experienced a lot of firsts this past weekend.
3. His first haircut. Yep, the pony tail is gone. I just snipped off about an inch from the back rat tail region. It's much nicer without it!
4. His first vegetables. We introduced Mitchell to squished peas this weekend, and at first he seemed to enjoy it. Subsequent feedings, however, have been less popular. I think the jury is still out.
5. His first time in a high chair. This was a necessity since we ate out a lot. He started in his Grandpa Johnson's old chair, and then used a variety of high chairs at random Leavenworth restaurants. Now he's a champ and is using his own seat at home.

Weights & Measures
We went for Mitchell's 6 month doctor's appointment today.
He now weighs 20lbs 5 oz and is 28 inches tall. Not bad!
As for sleep, we have come up with the following diagnosis:
somnophage /sŏm-na-fāj/n. of or characteristic of an organism commonly referred to as a Sleep Eater that derives its energy through the process of somnosynthesis (similar to photosynthesis), literally eating the sleep of those around it thus thriving on less sleep than would be considered normal.
[ORIGIN: from Lat. somnus, sleep; Gk phagos, to consume]

Moose Medley
Since being dubbed "Moose", Mitchell has been gathering the gear to represent his moniker. Here are a few of his prized moose costumes.

Punxsutawney Phil Indeed
Apparently the Pennsylvania rodent saw his shadow, thus predicting another 6 weeks of winter. We beg to differ here in Hermi where there are no shadows and the resounding chant is "Bring on spring!"
