The End of Preschool for MBJ

Today was Mitchell's final day of preschool at Bethlehem Lutheran.
He is so grown up now and very ready for Kindergarten. We are pleased with our choice to give him this second, red-shirt year to mature. Here's a look back at some random pictures throughout the year:
The ever-popular outside playtime helped him grow in strength and taught him new games and skills.
A group of monkeys!
He was very fond of the enclosed sandbox and sometimes there was even buried treasure!
He is a strong pumper now.
School pictures with jumbo crayons!
There were lots of things inside he liked to play with. Here he is as a doctor.
D is for doughnuts!
This was a milk factory - I'm sure real world economics were in play!
A sing-along with the 3-year class included red-headed Kai before he moved. The boys found each other in the crowd.
Mitch and Konner became friends this year.
Coordination in action with stilts!
The last day as they sport their splatter paint t-shirts.
Saying good-bye to Miss Tess. Two years with her and he's learned so much! He's strong, shy, silent, sweet and scampy - and we love him!

A Weekend Swim

Kiddos had a great time with grandparents over Memorial Day Weekend! The Pobst pool was a big hit - er - splash!
Getting braver...
So much color!
Oh the joy!
Nothing like a kickboard to make one feel cool! He especially liked the Husky colors...

On to State!

Bryan's team won tonight, making them district and league champions.
This is a young group and they are playing well. Here's hoping their success continues with round 1 of state next week.
Afterward, the boys gave Bryan a cold shower...

All three of them were soaked afterward!
We are all proud of Bryan and his team's success! He was once again voted as Coach of the Year for the league and of his last 9 seasons, this is his 8th trip to state. Not too shabby, mi amor!

Highs and Lows

Shannon spent the majority of last week as a very sick and puny little girl. Lots of vomit, no appetite, and abundant cuddle time.
Fortunately, she has rallied.
Friday we went to Umatilla to watch Bryan's team finish up the regular season. Koko was there with a dog! The kids were, of course, in heaven.
The dog, not so much. Poor thing was desperate to escape, but still very patient with little groping hands.
Bryan's team earned EOL league champs again.
Never mind they have to play up a classification...
And now MBJ is sick. Please just get us through May without needing to make more sub plans!!!

Mother's Day

Mother's Day was great this year! Lots of sleep, good food, and low-key fun with our family. Bryan was pretty sweet (duh) and spoiled me unnecessarily.
We capped the day off with some books, of course.
Best line of the day from Shannon, "I won't shoot you, Mom, 'cause it's your day". Safe bet she fires away tomorrow!!!

We Made it to May!

The weather is routinely beautiful now and we enjoy our days outside as much as possible.
The kids like to shoot hoops across the street. Shannon may bounce more than the ball...
Nina came to visit this weekend! Mitch the pirate was delighted to have a first mate willing to climb the tree and make pirate faces!
We spent Friday afternoon watching baseball. Dave and Vicki made the down and back trip to see Bryan's team sweep Nyssa. Here the Johnson men lament the poor calls. Baseball karma seemed to get sweet revenge when the ump was struck by multiple wild pitches...
And Nina and I enjoyed a trek at Hat Rock, tracing some of the footsteps of Lewis and Clark on our merry jaunt. So pretty!
