On to the Final Four!

Bryan's team faced the defending state champions today in their final home game of the season. It was pretty nerve-wracking as we waited to get started. We played Knappa, a team with attitude and tradition. I snapped a photo of one cocky mama's sweatshirt:

Well, they kinda weren't a big deal today!

We won 15-5 and it could have been much worse.
Our celebration

Bryan and his seniors.

The Johnson men. Dave, Vicki and my Dad came down for the game.

Tuesday we play in Union. A win takes us to the championship next Friday . . .

On to State!

Bryan's team won the league championship last weekend and yesterday they took the district championship as well. Their first round of state is Wednesday at home. A win takes them to Friday. Here's hoping!

Mitchell managed to join the team picture for this one. At least he was in the right color!
Here he is running to greet his dad after the win. Note the pants: Wranglers. Why? Well, when we arrived at the ballpark in The Dalles, Mitch had an all-time blowout. It was reminiscent of a year ago or more. I had no spare pants for him - 4 shirts, but no pants. So, we drove downtown and stopped at the first clothing store I could find.
You know what they say about Wrangler butts . . .

Hall of Fame

On Wednesday, Dave was inducted into the WIAA Hall of Fame in recognition of his 36 years of coaching baseball in Ephrata. The banquet was very well attended and there were over 50 people there just to see Dave. The Seattle Times wrote a short article about the event and the Grant County Journal did a much larger piece.

Bryan was able to join his family in honoring his dad.

The 1999 state champtionship team was well represented by Kyle, Jeremy, Jacob & Bryan.

Dave's sister, Dianne, and Uncle Bob came up from Arizona for the event!
Congratulations, Dave! We're so pleased for you!

Baseball Fever

Bryan and his team had quite the fan club at Saturday's game!

We filled up the VIP section: Vicki, Dave, Rachel, Rick, Kathleen, Grama Allstot and Mitchie!
Mitch was uber-clingy and loved his grandpas the best.

Dad took on the role of food server. Note the pocket full of napkins.

Mitchell's first hot dog was a big hit, mustard and all!

Here Mitch clings to his father. The minute the ball games end, he runs out on the field to find Dada.
