For the first time in many years (ever?) we spent the Fourth at home in Ephrata.
The celebration began on the 3rd as we took in an Apple Sox game in Wenatchee with Phyllis and Sam. The crowds, the lines....still worth the firework show!
Dave and Vicki joined us the for evening of the 4th. We had BBQ and baseball - very American!
Mitch and Shan did some painting of nature's fireworks when the sun set.
In the evening, we put on a firework show of our own on the basketball court.
There were many neighbor kids and Bryan was lead pyrotechnic.
Sparklers were a big hit this year (and the rubber boots are a nod to AK) and happily, no one was burned!
While Mitch was surprised that bottle rockets aren't legal here in the Lower 48, we did manage to evoke some oohs and ahhs with the display!
Happy 243rd, America!
