Camping

We decided to take a midweek camping trip up the Grande Ronde river and see how well the kids could handle it. We just did a one night trip, primarily to avoid major regrets, and it went really well. So much work for just one night, but overall a success.
Shannon is a bookworm and reads everywhere. She makes a certain "reading" noise that is the same humming, sing-song pattern repeated. Very cute.
Our morning fire replete with hot chocolate.
Someone chugs her cocoa!
Sausage, doughnuts and OJ? Yes, please!
Covered so as to avoid new bug bites and be unable to reach the ones already driving me nuts!
Much of the morning was spent in PJs. Mitch wanted to pose on this rock for a picture.
There were lots of rabbits in the campground. There were pretty tame, but allowing Shannon to approach was more than any one of them could bear.
Enjoying the paths and pushing his sister.
Throwing rocks
Someone had made a pool in the middle of the river. It was about 3 feet deep and a delightful place to sit and play. They even fished from there and caught a 3-4 inch whopper!
It is a lovely place. Perfect weather and still nice to come home!
