Mitch is "all boy" as they say, though I think "all kid" is probably more accurate. Here's a normal day's work for his alter ego, Captain Destructo:

However, he really outdid himself the other day. I am home alone and had just given Mitch his bath in the morning (didn't happen the night before). He likes to be naked for a bit post-bath so I left him to play with the bathroom door and went to change his sheets. When I returned, there was an unmistakable odor. Sure enough, he had pooped and then crawled through it. All over the bathroom, the rug, the towel, the door, and the kid. Back into the bath with the baby. Then I diapered him and returned to scrub the bathroom. Meanwhile . . .
He went into our bedroom, dumped over a glass of water on the nightstand, pulled out both drawers, and emptied the contents before taking a seat in the midst of the mayhem. Lovely! So, I remove the mini-terrorist and begin to clean up again. Meanwhile . . .
He's back in the bathroom unrolling the TP!
You might ask why I didn't just shut doors and corral the kid. Let me just say that I am not cut out to be a single parent and this child needs a leash!

KT what a great job you're doing keeping a sense of humor about all of his antics! How can you not when he's so darned cute.
ReplyDeleteI can relate! But he is pretty cute in all of the pictures! Maybe that's his saving grace! It is one of those things you wonder if you should take a picture. You want to remember it, but don't want to encourage the behavior. It's lucky that ALL days aren't like that, right?
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are priceless--good for you to have the clarity of mind to snap some photos. Those little cuties can sure make a mess, can't they??? I hope you are enjoying having Daddy home now. I sure enjoyed being with you and Mitch last week.
ReplyDeleteI remember that stage so very well! One day Bitty got into my recipe box and spread it all over the kitchen. It took me well over 2 hours to sort and rearrange and get it all back in the box. I thought I might kill her... What a day! Maybe you should come to Prosser for a day!
ReplyDeletepayton once pooped on the floor decided to finger paint, and then decided to roll his cars through it. Then if he hadn't pooped enough he pooped in Jenna's barbie cash register. All in about 15 min when he was supposed to be napping. it is amazing how many messes they can make in such a short amount of time. Mitch is super cute and I think that like payton's it will be his saving grace. If payton wasn't so cute I might have sold him to the gypsies along time ago!:)
