Mitchell experienced a lot of firsts this past weekend.
1. His first time using a sippy cup. At this point he is more interested in banging the cup around than in drinking from it, but he does get sufficient sips judging from the massive wetness of the diapers that follow.
2. His first time swimming in a pool. Bryan took Mitch for a short swim at the hotel and it was a huge success. Mitch giggled and was generally delighted by the experience. Plus, he was super cute in his little swim diapers.3. His first haircut. Yep, the pony tail is gone. I just snipped off about an inch from the back rat tail region. It's much nicer without it!
4. His first vegetables. We introduced Mitchell to squished peas this weekend, and at first he seemed to enjoy it. Subsequent feedings, however, have been less popular. I think the jury is still out.
5. His first time in a high chair. This was a necessity since we ate out a lot. He started in his Grandpa Johnson's old chair, and then used a variety of high chairs at random Leavenworth restaurants. Now he's a champ and is using his own seat at home.

ReplyDeleteBig week for the Moose! I am glad that he liked swimming... kids who are terrified of water are a major pain in the arse. :) Bitty is still sporting her mullet as we try to let her hair grow out as I refuse to give her the paige boy haircut.
