Moving On Up!

We had a 3-day school week, bookended with days off. Monday was MLK Jr Day and today was a snow day we didn't use. So, we made good use of the time and went back to Mission!
On Monday, Mom and Dad joined us. We had beautiful, albeit very cold, weather!
On Friday, Mom came with the kids and me. Shan was still smiling at lunch, despite a tumble which cost her her googles.
While the kids had their lesson, Mom and I skied with Dennis and Debbie! So much laughing and visiting and more incredible views.
Then we took the kids up Chair 4 for their first runs - 3 times! It was a major success and we're eager to return!

Another Trip Up the Hill

We have been making good use of the kids' ski passes this season. It entitles them to rentals, Chair 1 tickets, and a 2-hour lesson each time we go up.

Chair 1 is our norm at this point! Looong, cold rides up the lift...
But mighty descents make it worthwhile!
Exhausted kids afterward is a given. Back to the slopes!

Mini Me

Mitch disappeared for a bit...things got quiet...and then he returned...
"I'm Dad!" He used a video tutorial to try and tie his tie.
A pair of goofballs!

Skiing Commences!

Our final day of vacation came quickly. With so little (no!) snow at home, we decided to feel wintery and go skiing. It served also to help us practice getting up early again...
The kids did so well! We spent the morning on the rope tow, and they picked up right where we left off last season. Lunch in the lodge was a chance to warm up, but Mitch wanted us to hurry up and get back outside!
Shannon did very well and barely cried at all.
In fact, after lunch we rode Chair 1 for the first time with her (and Mitch came, too). Mitch managed to lose a ski loading, and Shan didn't get off (I had to pull her off behind me), but that was it. Otherwise, they did very well navigating the hill, turning and staying in control.
The day ended with 2pm lessons for two hours. They rocked it and have been advanced to the green level next time, which is almost entirely on Mimi. They were sore and tired, but so happy! Bryan and I are already scheming on ski trips in a few years...
