Fire Station Field Trip

Shannon has been waiting for her field trip to the fire station with great excitement!

She wore Mitchell's fire jacket and posed with the hose to start the morning.

Firefighting is very serious business!

Grandpa Johnson went with her and she was all smiles on the bus ride.

Here's her class. She loved the ambulance and getting into the truck. Chief Burns assured her that her coat was not fire proof, but it was a hit nonetheless. It's wonderful to have a happy preschooler now!

Pot of Gold

Beautiful double rainbow this evening with such vivid colors. It landed right over our home sweet home!

St. Patty's Day

Our little imps donned their green in honor of their trace of Irish blood. Plus, they didn't want to get pinched.

 They are pretty cute...

...and we're LUCKY to have them!

Summer Cuts

The kids decided to get haircuts this week after a LONG time...Shan has never had more than a trim and Mitch hadn't cut his since August. 

She was so excited. This is her this morning

and right before Leslie started to cut. She had the little chat about no more ponytails for the near future and said, "I want a short bob!"

No going back from here!

She was so good that Leslie gave her a "teenager" cut because she sat still cooperatively and made it possible.

She's very pleased with the result! And mornings will be that much faster with fewer tangles to tame!

They're Engaged!

We drove to Spokane Sunday afternoon to help celebrate Rachel and Kevin's engagement. While both families were wholly "in" on the proposal, Rachel was fully surprised!

We waited somewhat patiently in a lobby for Rachel to arrive with her friend, Mica. Mica pushed her into a wine bar and backed out the door.

  Kevin was waiting for her inside, so happy to see his sweetheart!

He asked, she said yes and everyone converged upon the happy couple.

It's a draw as to who is more excited about the upcoming nuptials...

Kevin had a friend make the ring he designed (with input gathered from Rachel) and she loves it!

Kevin is a wonderful man and will be a nice complement to our lovely sister. Cheers to their happiness (and ours!)!
