Easter festivities have wrapped up and we definitely enjoyed ourselves. We started with egg dyeing at our house, where Mitch also wrote the bunny a note explaining where we would be on Sunday.
If was hard for me not to micromanage the egg coloring - I was fearful of all brown eggs if they were left to their own devices!
Russ came to our house Friday night and we all drove up to Greenbluff Saturday afternoon. There we joined Sue and Steve, Ryan and Betty Ann, Mom and Dad, and Grama for a lovely visit. The weather was beautiful, the food plentiful, and the company superb. Sadly, I did not take many photos of people besides my children. However, it was wonderful to spend time together!
Dad made the kids cute gifts. Shannon got a cradle for her babies, and Mitch got a tin can robot. I'm sure the robot will be featured in another post since he isn't appearing here.
Besides a major love of Russell's dogs, Booth and Lumen, the kids adore Steve's goats. I caught Mitch climbing through the fence to be with them.
Shannon chased them down the hill.
Here he is, the lonely goatherd!
And the Blonde Bomber accomplice.
Easter morning the kids were delighted by their baskets. Shannon and Bryan enjoyed some early bubble blowing in the sunshine.
After breakfast, the bunny had come. Mitch was a major hunter, scaling rocks and running pellmell through the lawn looking for the colorful treasures.
Shannon was highly enthusiastic as well. It was a hit - if somewhat overblown. Apparently 57 eggs for two kids is a big egg-streme . . . No one told this bunny!
We went to a lovely church service and filled a row! Then we returned to a pretty brunch.
Easter duds.
Greenbluff posers.
Again with the goats. One of them had twins on Saturday and we made many treks down to check on them, pet them, watch them eat, get sneezed on, and avoid their poo. It was immensely entertaining. Mitch loves them!
Allstot men and some pooch frisbee. Not a bad view...
When we got home, the neighbors had egged our lawn. Three hours in the car, with whining, napless, and sugared kids culminated in more eggs! They were thrilled!
And here is our feisty girl to cap it off. We enjoyed ourselves, our family, and our hope in the Resurrection. Happy Easter!
