Game On!

After watching Bryan's team win another pair of games, Mitch loves to run the bases. It's a LONG way around the base path for such short legs, but the sliding in the dirt at the end makes the whole trip worthwhile!
Of course Shannon rolled around, too. This was after discovering the chalk . . . very dirty children tonight!
A little after dinner ball with Dad is always a "hit".
Working on catching . . .
throwing (with a game face) . . .
And practicing some fielding, too. Shannon did some hitting off the tee before becoming the audience. Play ball!

Happy Easter!

Easter festivities have wrapped up and we definitely enjoyed ourselves. We started with egg dyeing at our house, where Mitch also wrote the bunny a note explaining where we would be on Sunday.
If was hard for me not to micromanage the egg coloring - I was fearful of all brown eggs if they were left to their own devices!
Russ came to our house Friday night and we all drove up to Greenbluff Saturday afternoon. There we joined Sue and Steve, Ryan and Betty Ann, Mom and Dad, and Grama for a lovely visit. The weather was beautiful, the food plentiful, and the company superb. Sadly, I did not take many photos of people besides my children. However, it was wonderful to spend time together!
Dad made the kids cute gifts. Shannon got a cradle for her babies, and Mitch got a tin can robot. I'm sure the robot will be featured in another post since he isn't appearing here.

Besides a major love of Russell's dogs, Booth and Lumen, the kids adore Steve's goats. I caught Mitch climbing through the fence to be with them.
Shannon chased them down the hill.
Here he is, the lonely goatherd!
And the Blonde Bomber accomplice.
Easter morning the kids were delighted by their baskets. Shannon and Bryan enjoyed some early bubble blowing in the sunshine.
After breakfast, the bunny had come. Mitch was a major hunter, scaling rocks and running pellmell through the lawn looking for the colorful treasures.
Shannon was highly enthusiastic as well. It was a hit - if somewhat overblown. Apparently 57 eggs for two kids is a big egg-streme . . . No one told this bunny!
We went to a lovely church service and filled a row! Then we returned to a pretty brunch.
Easter duds.
Greenbluff posers.
Again with the goats. One of them had twins on Saturday and we made many treks down to check on them, pet them, watch them eat, get sneezed on, and avoid their poo. It was immensely entertaining. Mitch loves them!
Allstot men and some pooch frisbee. Not a bad view...
When we got home, the neighbors had egged our lawn. Three hours in the car, with whining, napless, and sugared kids culminated in more eggs! They were thrilled!
And here is our feisty girl to cap it off. We enjoyed ourselves, our family, and our hope in the Resurrection. Happy Easter!

Catching Up

So, duh, spring is busy. We've been up to lots lately, though not much in the realm of photography.
Here are a few from the past couple weeks.
I did a whirlwind trip to Portland to see college gals and their babes. It was lovely to see them all, and nice to come home again to my munchkins and hubby.
Play time with neighbor friends continues to be delightful. We did one night of big kid baths at our house. This is the cleanest they've all been at the same time!
Some face paint fun!
Another whirlwind trip to Spokane to help Jack celebrate his 7th birthday. These two won the scavenger hunt designed by Aunt Rachel.
What's a kid's party without firearms? Incomplete, for sure! Mitch got his first bb gun action with Uncle Chad's help.
Shannon is a cat lover. She hunts them down and pets them until they escape. Zorro was pretty tolerant.
And, because it would be a dishonest portrayal of our family story without some pouting and tears, here is Shannon rocking the temper tantrum. Pretty sure I saw an exact replica of "the face" in the rear view mirror the other day. More on that another time . . .
