Presidents' Day Weekend

Our family has been going to Leavenworth with 4 other families from church for nearly 20 years. We stay at the Enzian and enjoy the weekend together. This year was no different, though we did miss some of the regulars who couldn't make it.
We spent Friday night at a quaint B&B in East Wenatchee called Lola's. Mitch was delighted by the proprietress and managed not to break anything!

Once at the Enzian, Mitch enjoyed giving the Valentine bear a hug.
What he most loved, and we neglected to photograph, were the mounted animals in the lobbies. The elk and cougar were favorites!

One way we earn our massive meals is to cross-country ski. Russ and I used to call it uphill skiing because we hated it so much and were snobby downhillers. This year was Bryan's inaugural outing. We were not the best, for sure, but the weather and scenery were gorgeous!

My mom's birthday was Sunday and Mitch helped her celebrate.
She's quite a woman!

My grandparents came up for the birthday and Mitch showed his Great Grampa how to work the elevator buttons over and over again!

Here's the farewell shot heading to the cars. Mitch wanted nothing to do with his mother and requested one grandparent for each hand. He's learning how to shun me already!

Cookie Monster

A stolen gingersnap . . .

Performing a taste test . . .

Verdict - delicious! A second one was promptly stolen.
Please note the crazed sugar glazed look in his eyes.

Little of This, Little of That

His favorite pastime - reading!
This kid takes books to bed with him, not teddy bears.

Mitch enjoyed bathtime with his Great Grandparents Pobst the other evening. Here they are getting their ducks in a row.

Swinging like a big boy!
He didn't even mind when he fell out, thanks to the soft landing.

A Year and A Half Old

At 18 months, Mitchell is fully involved in his world. He loves to be outside, read his books, get shoulder rides, help people with their shoes, wave, sing to himself, any kind of ball, and his parents (of course!). We are looking forward to his next new and wonderful phases!
