Our Little Man

A breakfast of blueberries leaves its mark!

Hanging out with Pops

Mitch fears the vacuum. I was holding him and talking, but he wanted none of me. Instead, he crawled at top speed over to his Daddy, who was the one vacuuming, and demanded to be held during the terror. Bryan was charmed to be the chosen one!

Flyaway hair will always be his maternal heritage!

Tasty Treat

Oooh - that looks good!
Got a fistful . .

How's it taste?

Verdict? Not bad. Note the gravel and mud on his face and chin. He ate this stuff until he was pulled away, kicking and screaming, I might add.

Baseball with Grandpa

Grandpa Johnson stopped by for an afternoon ballgame today.
Mitch got to climb all over him, gnaw on his sunglasses, and learn the ins and outs of heckling umpires, bemoaning sloppy play, and applauding good fundamentals.
Perhaps we have a third generation Coach Johnson in the making . . .

Big Boy

Mitchell is getting so big! Bryan and I have really noticed it lately - he's longer and seems so round! Today he sported his first pair of shorts in the form of shortalls from Great Grama Sally. They are darling. He also had his first run in with the floor, and the cat, resulting in a fat lip and three scratches to the forehead, respectively. Add to that dirty knees from crawling outside and he looks downright boy!

Going Mobile

He can crawl now. Our lives have changed drastically. Today he managed to pour out an entire water can I had for house plants. That won't happen again. Something else will, though. We'll see how steep my learning curve is! Soon we'll get some crawling video going.
For now, Captain Destructo helping in the kitchen . . .
I did not prop him up for these shenanigans.
He can pull himself up now, too.

Very pleased to be caught in the act.

Cute little legs - I couldn't resist showing all three photos!

Overnighter

Bryan and I slept through the night Friday and Saturday! No, Mitch is not allowing it. However, he wasn't here. That's right, folks, we shipped him away! He spent the weekend with his grandparents A and we got some much needed time to work and do homework here.
A thousand thanks for the break!
Grampa A feeding a small piglet.

Grandma Johnson stopped by for some Mitch time, too.
That's my baby blanket from Aunt Phyllis!

Post-bath with Grama A. The water in Ephrata is currently toxic so they had to boil it for his bath. Flashbacks to early 1900s!

Silly sleeper.

Snacktime in the car.

Bless his heart, he was happy to come home!
P.S. Happy birthday to Mitch's uncle Chad!

8 Months Old

He's getting bigger, more aware of his surroundings, and more demanding each day! He hasn't started to crawl yet, but it could be any time now. Loves to stand, chew on paper and telephones, enjoys eating dried bananas and sweet potatoes, and loves to say "Duh" at everything. Poly continues to be a favorite, as does his father.
All in all, a happy little man.
Here are some bathtime images from this evening.
Bathtime is a favorite part of the day, for sure!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!
We celebrated with a lovely church service and then enjoyed time with Grama and Grampa Pobst, Grama Allstot, and my mom.
Here's Mitch and his Easter duds. The sweater vest was eye blue!

Our Easter fare.

Giggles

Giggles abound when bedtime is near. Who wants to sleep?
Not Mitchell!
