Time keeps flying past and we have circled the sun again. Shannon just completed her 8th rotation and we have celebrated her fully!
Mitchell had two basketball games on Saturday so we had a birthday lunch gathering between them. Cousins came, Great Grama Sally, Ryan and BettyAnn, LaVines, Johnsons and Allstots. Shan was delighted.
She was pretty hyper - and quite the little ham opening the gifts. The arrival of an American Girl doll was met with glee.
Glee for Dad and Ry, too...
Shannon loves her Kit doll - a couple of freckle-faced blondies!
Because Shan loves her Huskies, and loves soccer, and had a game to attend on Sunday, we themed her party accordingly.
Our sweet 8-year-old
On Sunday we went to Seattle for a women's soccer game against Utah. Shannon brought Cora and Mitch brought Mayson. Our kids earned tickets through the summer reading program.
Cora's family is made of Cougar fans, but she was a good sport and donned her purple, even borrowing Mitchell's hat. The weather was gorgeous and Seattle put on a nice show for us.
Kettle corn and happy boys!
It was a close game. The Huskies outshot Utah 24-4, but fell short in the scoring as we lost 0-1. Still, a great outing.
Uncle Russ met us for dinner before we returned to the east side of the mountains.
Happy 8th to our daughter. She is smart, fun to be with, has her own style, loves to read, play dolls, and be with friends, is an animal lover (whose fish died on the morning of her birthday!), and makes our family complete. We love you, Shannon Leah!
