Mitch got to attend Tall Timber's primary camp this week. It is a shortened version of camp (3 nights) that gives a good introduction of what camp is all about. Mitch has been to Tall Timber several previous times with family camps, but this was a first solo.
He was excited and ready! He and Josiah went together and stayed in the Ellensburg cabin with their counselor, Connor, and several other boys. Incidentally, I stayed at this cabin in 1995...
Tall Timber has a photographer who documents camp for families so we got a few glimpses into the week. This was the first evening tour of the grounds.
The cabin group had a great time together! Here are Mitch, Ben, Luke, Josiah, Karl and counselor Connor during some crazy game.
We joined him for the final program in the A-frame, singing songs, watching skits, and enjoying seeing him interact with his group.
The Ellensburg crew!
Mitch had a great time and wanted to return immediately. He loved the giant swing, playing a Clue game, archery, waterslide fun, rock wall climbing, and more. The only low point, in his estimation, was craft time. Not surprisingly, no crafts made it home... He was tired and he and Shan resumed normal relations almost immediately (backseat bickering on the ride to Wenatchee!). We stopped to visit Kevin and Mindy, Phyllis and Sam, and Grampa and Grama, then came home. We are glad to have our family of four back together!
