Griswolds Head to the Hills

We were sorry not to hunt for our tree with the Warners this year, but life was too full and schedules too complicated. Still, we wanted to find our tree in the mountains, so we started December with a drive up toward Mission Ridge and the fabled land of trees. Fortunately, Bryan (just) remembered to bring the saw!
We trekked uphill for more than an hour.
There was a lot of snow, especially for a 7-year-old with short legs.
Then we finally found our tree - little full, lotta sap...
We had to drag the thing up the side of the hill and back to the road. Then it was a long trek back to the truck. It was beautiful, though, and the kids were more cheerful on the return slog.
Back at the parking lot, the kids did some sledding, with Clark.
And we enjoyed some cocoa before (spilling it in the car) and heading home. It was a successful tree hunt!
