We spent the Fourth in Alaska with my folks and their friends. Beautiful weather and a wonderful time!
Decked out with our flags and ready for the parade to begin!
The parade circles the block twice and is always full of charming Americana. Not as much candy as Stanfield's parade, but plenty of dogs!
A visit to the Sons of Norway long ship for our viking and valkyrie!
Moms and Pops
A nod to Bryan's Norwegian heritage!
We snagged a couple keepers!
Dad prepped the beach for our neighborhood BBQ and fireworks.
Steve and Neala joined us for dinner, along with Richard, Chris and Eric. Quite a little community my Dad has assembled!
Here's the view from the cabin.
Dinner time!
A patriotic feast!
Pyrotechnics were a hit. Never quite as awesome in the Alaksa "night" sky, but always fun!
Shannon sharing beach treasures with Neala.
Nature's fireworks to end the day. Happy Independence Day!
Beautiful days for you all in Alaska. Thank goodness for global warming, which will soon pass!
ReplyDeleteYou tell the story well! I love the "fisherman" pictures in Petersburg. Shannon should have walked in the parade in that dress and with her Norwegian hairdo.
