We celebrated the Fourth in Alaska this year!
Petersburg does a 2-day celebration and we got to experience some of the delights, including a parade that goes around the blocks twice for our viewing pleasure! After the town festivities, we returned to the cabin for some fun of our own.

We staked out a prime parade watching locale - in front of the Harbor Bar! Shannon sported her valkyrie hat so as to blend into Little Norway!
We waved our flags, cheered the parade participants and collected lots of candy (with Papa's help!).
Mitch (in his viking hat) strolled down the street with Papa to check out the old firetrucks before the parade began.
A true spoonamore with a king salmon!
And here are the fishers with a halibut!
Sons of Norway, indeed!
We did a brief stop at the viking ship.
After naps, the neighbors came over for a beach fire and hot dog roast, followed by some shooting! What used to be a potato gun is now a golf ball gun. Those babies can really fly!
Shannon liked nothing better than being her Papa's shadow!
Dad was the head pyrotechnic and put on quite a show.
Shannon loved waving her flag and watching the antics.
Nature put on a little fireworks show of its own, too.
Happy Independence Day!
