A Quick Trip to Spokane

We got to go to Spokane to pick up Mitchell from LaVines and that resulted in lots of family visits. We saw the LaVines, of course, and stayed a night at their place. Grandpa Johnson was also around for a baseball game and we got some time with him, too. After the VBS closing program and naps, we went out to Greenbluff to visit with Great Grama Allstot, Sue & Steve, and Ryan & Betty Ann. We had beautiful weather and lots of good food.
Top on Mitchell's list was seeing the goats!
Steve's herd includes more than two dozen goats now!
After dinner (and before cherry pie!), we walked down to the pen to visit the 2-day-old baby goat.
Mitchell got to feed the mommy goat.
Shannon was charmed by the baby. She later followed it around in the grass and tried to make some face-to-face eye contact.
It was a bit heavy for MBJ, but so soft!
The baby snuggled right up with Betty Ann!
I kept expecting to see SJ kiss the little kid.
We put the kids in jammies, had pie, played a bit more, and then hit the road for a fairly quiet drive home.
And this morning we picked blueberries! 7.5lbs in less than an hour! Mitchell was MUCH better at picking than he was last year. Shannon, on the other had, ate berries for the entire time!

  1. Katie, looks like fun! I want to hold a baby goat, how sweet is that! Seems as though your berry picking days are paying off! 7.5 lbs in less than an hour you and Mitch are little machines!
