Since we "returned" from vacation last week, we have had 4 cancelled days, 2 late starts, and 1 early release. Yes, we have lots of snow, but it has been the wind, below zero temps, and roads drifted shut that have led to this crazy schedule. Add to that our snow day before vacation, and we are a full 5 day week later in June now. Ugh.
Our backyard drifted. This was early on when we thought the drifts were big. They grew.
Charlie/Neut has had lots of attention as we've been home.
Lovely visit from Phyllis on Sunday before we got the 'closed' call for Monday morning.
The neighborhood gang is not deterred by cold weather!
They do have to come in and warm up, though. So, lunch for 7 while snow clothes went into the dryer. Not because I'm nice, but knowing the only way they'd go back outdoors was if they were warm enough!
The drifts grew and we got to do some sledding in our own yard!
The short fence was easily drifted to the top, but the taller fence also nearly reached the top with snow drifts on both sides. The snow is hard packed after Wednesday's 25mph gusts.
Bryan still works all the snow days, but he comes home to play in the afternoon.
To cap off the time off, the kids got to get towed by Darrell on his 4-wheeler! We should be back to normal tomorrow (which would be our 2nd normal day in 2 weeks!) and life should return to a recognizable pattern. What, I wonder, will we do with a full-time job to occupy our time?!
EDIT: Friday morning broke cold. The schoolbuses wouldn't start in protest and thus another cancelled day. July, here we come!

An amazingly unusual set of weather events and they will become the "remember whens" of their life!
